Talking
Talking benefits students in the classroom because it gives them a chance to communicate with each other and share ideas. The students can learn a lot from each other. Students can engage in classroom debates. The students could read a story and talk as a group to decide what they think should happen next. Students could read poetry aloud and discuss what they thought it was about. Talking gives student the opportunity to share their point of view and learn new ideas from their classmates. Students can even have fun with talking and act out a play and be silly, but they are still learning the content and reading the literature. Talking gives teachers an opportunity to have an interactive and fun filled classroom.
I think that the most important benefits gained by talking in the classroom would be the sharing of ideas. You mentioned it and i suppose that a whole lot of other people will also. I think its important becuase students learn from eachother. If they are talking about academics or not they exchange ideas and gain new knowledge, which is a plus for any person who engages in conversation.
ReplyDeleteI like what you said about talk in the classroom. You said, "Talking gives teachers an opportunity to have an interactive and fun filled classroom" and I totally agree with this idea. Now we just have to remember this when we all have our own class full of talkative students. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, talking is our #1 way of communication and without it, where would we be? Talking about literature and discussing what we read are very important because it informs us and the students of the different opinions and different ways that we all relate to the same text.
